How can I volunteer at Slowpaw Acres?
To volunteer, please fill out our on-line volunteer application form that will be provided. We will schedule yoru visit(s) and welcom eyou on-board. Pet socialisation , comb out, and clean up are the most frequest volunteer activities. The pets will love it!
Can I visit Slowpaw Acres?
This is a closed facility. As many senior pets are working on adjusting to their new home, we work hard to remain consistent with minimum interruption. All visits to the facility are by appointment only and restricted to scheduled volunteers, Vet visits, couriers, suppliers, and pre retirement visits. Drop Ins are not allowed.
How can I support Slowpaw Acres?
You can support us through monetary donations, food & litter subscription donations, sponsor a pet, sponsor an Intern, sponsor a project, volunteering, or spreading the word about our mission. Visit our support page for more details.
What is the adoption process?
As this is an end of years pet retirement facility, junior pet adoptions are offered via The Adoptables. Once a senior pet enters our program, they are well cared for, loved, engaged and become part of the community until they cross the rainbow bridge.
What types of pets do you accept?
We primarily accept older dogs and cats whose owners are moving to assisted living or passed, and cannot take their pets with them. Pet acceptance requires approval and may include senior pets from more unfortunate circumstances.
How can I donate?
You can donate through our website, via Patreon, eTransfer, Amazon subscription, corporate sponsorship. Visit our donation page for more information.

What veterinary care do the pets receive?
All pets at Slowpaw Acres receive regular veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and any necessary medical treatments to ensure their well-being.
When it is time to cross the rainbow bridge, we will consult with the vet for the best course of action. Quality of life surpasses pained existence.
Can I foster a pet?
No, we do not have a foster program as these pets are part of the community and typically not in a position to be rehomed, even for a short period.
This is in fairness to the pet and their part in the daily activities at Slowpaw Acres.

Dog Walking
Help our furry friends stay active by taking them for regular walks around our beautiful grounds. We have long walking paths through our forest on the acreage.
Pet Socialization
Spend quality time with our pets, providing them with the companionship and affection they crave.

Support our fundraising events by helping with setup, coordination, and guest engagement.
Administrative and Facilities Support
Assist with building maintenance, pet pen care and cleaning, clerical tasks, data entry, and other administrative duties to keep our operations running smoothly.

You can only Adopt junior pets via The Adoptables. These are young pets that need a godo home. They are Spayed/Neutered, Tatooed, Vaccinated and Socialized.
